The Singapore Sling is a gin-based cocktail from Singapore. This long drink was developed sometime before 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon, a Hainanese bartender working at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel, Singapore. It was initially called the gin sling a sling was originally an American drink composed of spirit and water, sweetened and flavored.

This classic cocktail is a refreshing pre-dinner drink, you can use whisky or brandy in place of gin. Serve your Gin Sling in a highball glass.
Ingredients
- Ice
- 45 ml Gin
- 30 ml Lemon Juice
- Dash Grenadine
- Soda Water
- Lemon Twist
- Maraschino Cherry
Instructions
- Place ice in a serving glass
- Add gin, lemon juice, and grenadine and top with soda water.
- Garnish with a lemon twist and a cherry
- Serve with a swizzle stick
